GETTING THERE
By Air
International airlines land at Ouagadougou Airport (OUA), which is about 8kms from the city. There are several direct flights from countries like France, Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Ivory Coast, UK, USA and South Africa. Most of these flights land five times a week. Other major European, American, Asian and Oceania countries are also well connected to Burkina Faso. Taxi service is available from Ouagadougou Airport to the city. Other airport facilities include car hire and restaurants.
By Road
There are road routes between Mali, Niger, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Benin and Togo and Burkina Faso. Government run bus services ply about five times a week and are reasonably priced. Most of these services are excellent and comfortable though the roads are barely adequate at some places and impassable during the rains (July-September). The road from Ghana is being renovated. Bush taxis also serve most of these routes.
By Train
The only international train service runs between Cote d'Ivoire and Ougadougou. The train runs thrice a week, is fast and the services are good.
