Christianity and the Mwari cult are the main religions in Zimbabwe. Half of all Zimbabweans belong to Christian churches, but they cannot be regarded as dogmatic Christians since they retain more than a little faith in traditional belief systems. The main aspects of the Mwari cult/religion are monotheism, animism, ancestor worship and intercession to Mwari, the Supreme Being through The Voice of Mwari, a cave-dwelling oracle who is usually female. Till this day, the Zimbabweans have faithfully consulted the oracle on all important matters.
