Climate
Burundi is an equatorial country but enjoys a moderate tropical climate. Average annual temperatures vary between 23 to 17°C, as altitude is above 900m. The country has two important seasons - the dry season from June to September, and the rainy season from February to May. Apart from this, the remaining months are half dry and half rainy – a short rainy spell between September and December and an equally short dry spell between January and February. Average annual rainfall is about 150cm. Bujumbura, the capital, has a hot climate with average temperatures at about 25°C.
